MindVibesFM is difficult to squeeze into a single box — and that’s exactly how I like it.

At its heart, it’s my creative HQ: a place where mental health, lived experience, music, books, videos, humour, creativity and honest conversation all come together. Some of it is serious. Some of it is thought-provoking. Some of it is deliberately different. And some of it exists simply because an idea popped into my head and I wanted to see where it could go.

Mental health runs through much of MindVibesFM, but this isn’t a clinical website. I’ve spent over 30 years working in nursing and I also live with bipolar disorder, so I bring experience from both sides of the conversation. I’m interested in what life actually feels like — not just diagnoses, labels and textbook definitions.

Creativity is a huge part of that. I write books, create music, make videos, develop resources and experiment with ideas that might help someone think differently, feel understood or simply have a better day. I describe myself as an Artician— not quite an artist, not quite a musician, not quite a writer, but somewhere in between.

And increasingly, AI has become one of my creative tools. My bipolar brain can generate an extraordinary number of ideas. AI helps me capture them, develop them and turn some of that mental noise into something tangible. The technology doesn't provide the lived experience, purpose or imagination — I bring those. AI helps me unlock their potential.

That’s why you’ll find all sorts here. You might discover a song about something nobody normally talks about, a book born from personal experience, an honest look at living with bipolar, a conversation starter, a video, some humour or something completely unexpected.

There isn't a prescribed route through MindVibesFM.

Come in. Have a wander. Click something that catches your eye.

If it makes you think, smile, talk, create, feel understood or see something from a slightly different angle, then MindVibesFM is doing exactly what I hoped it would.

Real stories. Real vibes. Real talk.

MindVibesFM was created around a set of values that have become increasingly important to me through more than 30 years in nursing, my own experience of living with bipolar disorder, and simply being human.

At the heart of everything is kindness. Not the superficial kind, but the kind that means listening before judging, treating people with dignity and remembering that we rarely know the whole story behind somebody else's behaviour.

Then there is honesty. Mental health can become surrounded by labels, assumptions and carefully chosen language. I wanted MindVibesFM to be somewhere we can talk about what life actually feels like — openly, respectfully and without pretending everything is straightforward.

Curiosity matters too. I believe we should remain willing to ask questions, challenge our own thinking and consider perspectives different from our own. We don't have to agree with each other to listen to each other.

Another important value is hope. Not unrealistic positivity or pretending difficult things don't happen, but the belief that people can grow, adapt, recover, create and discover new possibilities for themselves.

And then there is creativity.

My bipolar brain generates ideas — sometimes lots of them. Rather than seeing that simply as something that needs containing, I've become interested in what can happen when that energy is given somewhere constructive to go.

That's where AI has become such an important tool for me.

It helps me take ideas from inside my head and turn them into books, music, images, videos, resources and conversations. It doesn't replace my imagination, experience or judgement. It gives them somewhere to go.

That's also why I use the word Artician. I'm not quite an artist, musician, writer or technologist. I work somewhere between all of them, combining human experience and ideas with technology to create things I couldn't otherwise create.

But perhaps the most important value behind MindVibesFM is connection.

Behind every diagnosis, job title, opinion, social-media profile and label is a person. People need opportunities to talk, to listen, to laugh, to question things and occasionally to realise that somebody else understands.

So MindVibesFM isn't about telling people how to live.

It's about encouraging kindness over judgement, curiosity over assumption, conversation over silence, creativity over limitation and hope over resignation.

If the things I create help somebody think differently, start a conversation, feel less alone, discover something new or simply smile for a few minutes, then MindVibesFM has done something worthwhile.

Be kind. Be real. Stay curious. Keep the conversation going.

MindVibesFM isn't designed to tell you where to go next.

MindVibesFM isn't designed to tell you where to go next.

In fact, I'd rather it didn't.

I want this website to feel like somewhere you can wander around, follow your curiosity and discover things you weren't necessarily looking for.

You might arrive because you're interested in mental health and end up listening to an album. You might come across one of my videos and find yourself reading about living with bipolar. A book might lead you to a conversation starter. A piece of music might make you laugh, think or want to know the story behind it.

That's how MindVibesFM is supposed to work.

There are books, music, videos, personal experiences, mental health conversations, creative experiments, resources and plenty of things that don't fit comfortably into any particular category.

Some are serious.

Some are funny.

Some might challenge the way you think.

Some are simply there because creating them made me smile.

And occasionally you might find yourself wondering, "Where on earth did that come from?"

Probably my brain.

The important thing is that you choose the route.

There's no programme to follow, no lesson to complete and no expectation that you'll agree with everything you find. MindVibesFM isn't about giving people another set of instructions for how they're supposed to think, feel or live.

It's about creating opportunities to explore, question, listen, talk and connect.

So click on Books and see what I've been writing. Head into Music and discover what happens when ideas become sound. Visit Videos for another side of MindVibesFM. Explore my experiences of living with bipolar, find a question that could start a conversation, discover what being an Artician means, or have a wander through The Shop.

And don't worry about getting lost.

Getting a little lost is part of the experience.

This website is constantly growing because I'm constantly creating. New ideas become new pages, new songs, new books, new images and occasionally entirely new directions.

So don't just visit the homepage and leave.

Open a door. Click something unexpected. Follow your curiosity.

You don't need to see everything, understand everything or agree with everything.

If you leave having discovered something, thought about something, laughed at something, listened to something or started a conversation, your visit was worthwhile.

Come in. Have a wander.

Explore. Connect. Be you.

And see where MindVibesFM takes you.
